The earliest ripening of our Columnar varieties, Northpole™ produces very large, bright-red, tasty McIntosh-type fruit that is crisp, juicy and aromatic. Attractive both in bloom and in fruit, Northpole™ is very productive and is great for fresh eating and cider.
Columnar apples grow in a column, or upright fashion and require very little pruning. Great for an urban food forest. Can be kept in a large pot or planted in ground. Mature size is 8-10' tall (if planted in ground) and 2' wide. TWO DIFFERENT VARIETIES ARE NEEDED FOR CROSS POLLINATION. I also have Scarlet Sentinel Columnar Apple available. Northpole is resistent to apple scab.
